Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, has declared an immediate three-week lockdown in two high risk districts as the country battles a rise in Ebola. All movement in and out of the Mubende and Kassanda districts will be halted, Museveni said in a televised address. However, cargo trucks will be allowed to enter and leave the areas. Curfews will also be imposed. Places of worship, bars, gyms, saunas and other entertainment venues will close, but schools will remain open (McCluskey and Chen, 2022)
Father, we pray that Your healing power will flow through the lives of those infected with this deadly disease. Have mercy on this nation and heal them, Lord. Father, we pray that You give doctors in Uganda, and other countries, the wisdom to formulate a vaccine that will treat and prevent this disease – in Jesus Christ name (2 Chronicles 7:14).
