Since 1973, there have been 333 post-conviction DNA exoneration in the United States. African-Americans make up two-thirds of the exonerees.

  • A research study published in 2014 estimated that 4 percentĀ of defendants sentenced to jail the United States are innocent. This accounts to roughly 96,000 people wrongly convicted.
